THE BIG DESIGN MARKET, a Melbourne end-of-year tradition, will be held again this year for three days from Friday, May 24th to Sunday, May 26th at the Royal Exhibition Building.

It's a large-scale event bringing together around 250 artists and brands from Australia and New Zealand, and it's packed with things to see, from jewelry, art, food, interior design, and even my favorite natural cosmetics and self-care items.

Since moving to Melbourne in 2023, I have been going there every year without fail, and this year is my last year. So, I would like to introduce some recommended beauty and lifestyle brands.

Born in Victoria. "Farm Goat" | Body care items made with goat's milk

First up is Farm Goat, a Victorian brand that develops soaps and body care products made with goat's milk.

I recommend liquid goat milk soap . I love the citrus scented ones, and they leave your skin feeling really moisturized after washing. They remove dirt without escaping moisture, so they're perfect for the coming winter months when dryness is a concern.

This is a brand that is definitely worth trying for those with sensitive skin or those looking for natural products.

"Red Hill Lavender" | Muscle cream that relaxes the mind and body

Another recommendation is Red Hill Lavender, a brand that has a lavender farm on the Mornington Peninsula and offers a wide range of scented items, including candles and hand balms.

My favorite is the muscle cream . When I apply it to my neck, shoulders, and arms after a bath, the lavender scent spreads softly and the menthol gives off a refreshing feeling. It's perfect for people who get stiff easily from desk work or who are used to doing self-massage.

"SISUU" | Approaching sleep and fatigue with magnesium

A brand that has been gaining attention in the market this year is SISUU, an Australian brand. They offer sprays and bath salts that contain magnesium , with their magnesium spray being particularly popular.

Just by spraying it on your skin, you can replenish minerals and it is said to be effective in relieving muscle tension, insomnia, and stress. I would definitely like to try it as a self-care routine before going to bed.

"Billy van Creamy" | Delicious organic ice cream

Although it's not related to beauty products, I always stop by the Billy van Creamy ice cream stand every year. It's a popular craft ice cream brand in Melbourne, and they're very particular about the ingredients they use.

They have a variety of rich flavors made with organic milk and nuts, and the pistachio and salted caramel flavors are recommended. Last time, there were about 10 people in line at any given time, but they turn over quickly, so please give them a try.

It's bound to be crowded! Don't forget to buy your tickets in advance!

The venue is the Royal Exhibition Building (in Carlton Gardens) . It's easily accessible and a popular spot with tourists, but it gets very crowded on weekends, so we recommend purchasing tickets in advance from the official website .
