Experience monthly beauty treatments in Melbourne. Facial treatments at Aesop

I wanted to know more about the beauty industry in Australia, so starting this month, I decided to try out some hands-on beauty treatments at beauty salons, spas, nail salons, etc., about once a month.
I've been doing some research, but first of all, I decided to get a facial treatment at Melbourne-based Aesop for my first visit. I immediately accessed their website and found out that they offer treatments at their South Yarra store. I was able to easily make a reservation on their website.
In Japan, I mainly do interviews and try out various things such as facials and body treatments. I received it when I returned to Japan temporarily in April, so it's been 3 months since my last visit.
Aesop has several stores in Melbourne, and the South Yarra store is conveniently located almost in front of South Yarra Station. This area is where the most fashionable people in Melbourne gather, and is packed with fashion, restaurants, cafes, and artist studios. It's a fun area to just watch the people walking around the city.
I booked a 60-minute facial treatment. When I made the reservation, the esthetician's name was in Japanese, so I thought, "Maybe she's Japanese?" and felt a little relieved. I've been living in Melbourne for a year and three months, but I still don't have much confidence in my English...
And this afternoon, I received the treatment I was looking forward to. I arrived a little earlier than the reserved time, so I decided to take my time looking around the store. Five minutes before the appointment, I told the staff that I had reserved a treatment, and they answered me with a smile. I was guided to a comfortable sofa and was impressed when they brought out the original herbal tea. I was a little nervous, but I was thirsty and drank it all in one go.
Soon after, a woman came towards me from the back. As I expected, she was Japanese. Needless to say, I felt very relieved, perhaps because the language barrier had suddenly disappeared.
Before the treatment, I filled out a sheet with questions about my skin condition. It's winter in Melbourne, so I have endless skin problems, such as dryness and dullness, as well as sagging and wrinkles due to age. I've tried several Aesop products, and I'm currently using the Immaculate Facial Toner, which was recently released. My favorite is the Parsley series.
The treatment room was at the back of the store. I was already impressed by the atmosphere, which felt so private. When I entered the room, there was a large bed and a round light at the back. On the wall was written, "My words－mere breath－are eternal. Sappho" (※Sappho was an ancient Greek female poet). I love it, love it, love it. I love everything about this atmosphere.
The treatment contents are decided based on my skin condition and counseling. As expected, my skin was dry, so the treatment focused on moisturizing and anti-aging care. Starting with cleansing, I received an all-hand massage, and a thorough treatment on my neck and décolleté. Due to the nature of my job, I take good care of my skin, but I still felt stiffness in my skin. Every time there was a comfortable "push," I felt like "that's it, that's it." It felt so good I was getting sleepy, but I decided that I absolutely wouldn't fall asleep because it was such a wonderful experience.
Comfortable music was playing quietly, but it wasn't what you would call "soothing" sounds (sounds that evoke the feeling of nature, such as the sound of water or wind). It was modern and quiet, and I think there was a piano melody (sorry, the treatment was so pleasant that I can't remember...).
As the treatment was reaching its climax, I was given a paste-type mask. It had a nice scent and was slightly cool and comfortable. After leaving it on for a while, I had it gently wiped off. To finish, I was given a generous amount of toner to moisturize my skin, and I was even given a treat of eye serum around my eyes. And one more thing. My favorite Protective Facial Lotion SPF50 was gently applied.
When I left the treatment room, I was shown to the same comfortable sofa and tea was prepared for me again. When I asked about the mask I had used, I found out it was a parsley cleansing mask. I had used three products from the parsley series - cleansing oil, cream, and oil treatment - but I had no idea the mask was so amazing! Maybe because I had praised it so highly, I was given two samples. Thank you very much.
It was truly a blissful time. Although I am a big fan of Aesop, this was actually my first time to receive a treatment. What's more, I was happy that I was able to receive the treatment in Melbourne instead of Tokyo.
I will definitely go back some day.
